Week 1:

Oct. 19th - Introduction/ History/ Mission and Purpose
Oct. 21st - What is an Interpretive Docent?
Outline/practice of carts, zones, backpacks

Week 2:

Oct. 26th - Giraffes and Kraal
Oct. 28th - Ecology & Reptiles

Week 3:

Nov. 2nd - Practice/Shadow carts/field trip (8:00 AM Bonus Walk)
Nov. 4th - Practice/Shadow carts/field trip

Week 4:

Nov. 9th - Plants (8:00 AM Bonus Walk)
Nov. 11th - Visit gardens on grounds

Week 5:

Nov. 16-18th - Attend AM Ed and shadow any day this week
Holidays - Nov. 23rd & 25th - Thanksgiving - Happy Turkey Day!

Week 6:

Nov. 30th - Mammals/Endangered Species (8:00 AM Bonus Walk)
Dec. 2nd - Visit mammals on grounds

Week 7:

Dec. 7th - Outreach/COG/Guest Relations (8:00 AM Bonus Walk)
Dec. 9th - Cahuilla Program

Week 8:

Dec. 14th - Interpretation: Techniques (8:00 AM Bonus Walk)
Dec. 16th - Shadow School Field Trips
Holidays - Dec. 22nd & 23rd - No class - Enjoy the holidays
Dec. 28th & 30th - Study notes; prepare Interpretive Project

Week 9:

Jan. 3rd-7th - Zoo Zones - Attend any one day this week

Week 10:

Jan. 11th - Birds (8:00 AM Bonus Walk)
Jan. 13th - Visit Aviaries

Week 11:

Jan. 18th - Interpretive Projects
Jan. 20th - Interpretive Projects

Week 12:

Jan. 25th - Docent Field Trip
Jan. 26th-28th - Interviews with Mike

Monday Jan. 31 - Docent Party
Tuesday Feb. 1st - Graduation
Weds. Feb. 2nd - All-Day Workshop
