Starry Safari
Overnight Adventures at The Living Desert
Starry Safari runs from the beginning of March through the end of May every year.
Grab your backpacks, roll up your sleeping bags, and come join the Starry Safari, a nighttime sleepover experience for the whole family. Stay past closing time and encounter the sights and sounds of the desert at night.
As the sun sets and a vast canopy of stars appear in the desert sky, you and your fellow safari-mates will make your way to our tent village. Your roomy tent will easily fit up to four people, with sleeping pads to make your night more comfortable. All you need to bring are sleeping bags or blankets, personal toiletries and clothes for the next morning.
Each Starry Safari will feature up-close animal presentations and a nighttime guided walk through the park. You can partake of tall tales told round the campfire while you enjoy s'mores that you roast yourself. Sleep will come easily as you listen to the coyotes howl, and if you're lucky you might even hear our wolves join in before the night is through!
In the morning, enjoy a continental breakfast and a leisurely, guided walk before you head home or choose to stay on for further exploration of The Living Desert - your next day admission is included in the Starry Safari package. Starry Safaris are for adults and children five years and older. Singles and couples without children are welcome to all programs.

Groups of 20 or more can enjoy all that a Starry Safari Adventure has to offer at a special pricing of only $156 per tent (includes 2 participants), and $78 per additional person. Consider a Starry Safari Overnight Adventure for school, scout and church groups, team-building activities, family and friends reunions, anniversaries, birthdays and group celebrations. We'd be happy to work with you to tailor a program to suit your individual needs. Special menus are available upon request for an additional fee.
