Celebrate the world through environmental conservation and preservation. Make an impact by learning to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle! The day’s events include the debut of two new African wild dogs, interactive activities, lectures, and special retail discounts. Learn how to take a favorite old t-shirt and turn it into a reusable grocery bag. Don’t miss out on Desert Tortoise, Mojave Maxine’s 40th birthday celebration! The first 500 guests receive a milkweed plant take home and plant in their gardens.

9:00 am: Tree Planting Ceremony in the Sage Garden
9:00 am to Noon: Cheetah Outpost; #loudforcheetahs cheetah spot
9:00 am to Noon: Nursery sale! 15% off for non-members and 30% for Members
9:00 am to 10:00 am: Discovery Center; learn how to take your favorite old t-shirt and turn it into a reusable grocery bag!
9:30am: Meerkat Chat – Learn about how meerkats live a healthy lifestyle.
9:30am: Presentation by Dr. Laurie Marker, Founder of the Cheetah Conservation Fund.
Learn about the plight of cheetahs and how days like Earth Day help create awareness.
10:00am: New African Wild Dogs to go out on exhibit for the first time.
10:15am to 11:00am: – Dr. Marker’s Book signing in Chase Board Room.
11:00: – Desert Tortoise Mojave Maxine’s Birthday!

The Living Desert’s Earth Day celebration is free for members and included with paid park admission for non-members. Parking is always free.
