Memorial & Tribute Gifts

Thank you for considering The Living Desert in planning a memorial or tribute to your loved one. The contribution you make is a gift that helps us create and maintain a living legacy enjoyed by thousands of people each year.

Many gifts are made in memory of a loved one in recognition of an outstanding accomplishment by an individual, group, or business. These important donations make a very real difference in the sustainability of The Living Desert.

Memorial Gifts

Memorials are first and foremost a way of recognizing someone else’s passions. By giving to The Living Desert “in memory of,” you are recognizing that the mission of The Living Desert – desert conservation through preservation, education and appreciation – are values shared by your honoree.

Tribute Gifts

Today, tribute donations are a wonderful way to commemorate a special occasion such as a birthday, wedding, graduation, holiday, retirement, or other joyful occasions as well as accomplishments. Gifts “in honor of” someone are directed toward sustaining general zoo operations which includes things like the daily feeding and care of animals and maintenance of the gardens. You can be assured that your tribute donation will be used where it’s needed the most.

Engraved Bench Tile ($500 Minimum Donation)

One of the unique opportunities for a Tribute at The Living Desert is selecting the option of placing a 6” x 6” tile on a bench near the Endangered Species Carousel. Marilyn’s Merry-Go-Round, named for generous donor Marilyn Tennity, near the Gecko Gulch Playground just past the Miriam U. Hoover Discovery Center brings thousands of families to that area and the tribute tiles are a special part of it.
