Support Zoo Casablanca Cats Gala
Our 17th Annual Gala, "Casablanca Cats," celebrated wild and endangered cats from the Sonoran Desert to the Sahara, under a colorful Moroccan themed-tent erected for this very special evening. Chaired by Sandra Cooper Woodson, the evening included cocktails, dinner, music, a special multimedia presentation, and a "Cat Casbah" after-party. Our live and silent auctions featured a 10 day Panama Canal Cruise donated by Kirk and Janet Lanterman; magnificent limited edition artwork donated by Michael Leppen; a San Francisco Wine Country Excursion; and a Bermuda Holiday. The celebratory throng of Living Desert supporters included Anne Jeffreys; Catherine Oxenberg; Gena Rowlands; and Casper van Dien who joined us in support of our ongoing education and conservation efforts.
This year's Gala, produced by Laurie Lund, CEO of The Events Department, Inc., and catered by Chef Jean Paul of Le Vallauris, recognized our 2008 Tracks in the Sand conservation award winners, Mark and Delia Owens. Mark Owens M.Ed, and Delia Owens, Ph.D are Chief Executive Officers and co-founders of The Owens Foundation for Wildlife Conservation, headquartered in Idaho.
