Hop over to the annual Easter “Eggstravaganza” at The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens on Saturday, March 31, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.

“Eggstravaganza is an annual tradition that our guests look forward to every year here at The Living Desert,” said Dawn Petrick, Director of Park Services and Guest Relations. “It’s great to see people of all ages spending quality time together enjoying the zoo and Easter themed activities.”

This year the holiday-inspired event features a park-wide scavenger hunt. Guests will receive a map or can download the map at time of arrival, then be off to answer questions and collect stickers at various locations. Once the map has been completed, it can be redeemed for an Easter egg with a special prize. Guests can win prizes such as behind-the-scenes tours or even a family membership.

The entire family will enjoy games and activities including a maze, crafts, face painting, keeper chats, animal encounters, and the Wildlife Wonders Show. Children can meet and have their photo taken with the Easter Bunny, along with his friends amongst 10,000 eggs. There will also be a rematch of the Tortoise and Hare race when The Living Desert’s Easter bunny takes on the Zoo’s tortoise mascot.

The Living Desert’s Easter Eggstravaganza is free for members and included with paid park admission for non-members. The Living Desert’s free interactive app is available to download on smartphones and tablets. Parking is always free. The zoo and gardens is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, visit www.LivingDesert.org or contact 760-346-5694.
