Monarchs and Mimosas

Did you know that 75% of our crops depend on pollinators? That means that pollinators provide one out of every three bites of food we eat!

Celebrate Pollinator Week at The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens on June 25th to learn how you can support pollinators, through special activities and tasty pollinator-supported snacks.

From 8:00am-12:00 noon specialty items will be available for purchase at the Palm Garden Patio including:

  • Fresh Fruit Yogurt Parfait with Desert Honeycomb Kiss
  • Crudité Hummus Cup
  • Classic Summertime Gazpacho
  • Date Shakes
  • And of course, Mimosas!

Non-alcoholic beverages and additional food items will also be available for purchase.

Come learn, play, and discover the importance of pollinators, with crafts and activities from 8:30am-10:30am. While you are there, BEE on the lookout for guest appearances by our animal care team and pollinator representatives.

Although these activities are geared towards elementary aged children, all are welcomed and encouraged to join in the fun. These activities are included with your park admission-- there is no additional cost to participate.

Guests will also will have the opportunity to purchase milkweed and nectar plants to create pollinator-friendly gardens at home.

*All of the above activities will take place at The Palm Garden Patio, located past the park entrance and to the left*
