Camps and Family Programs inspiring the next generation
The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens offers several fun and engaging opportunities to learn about the animals and their ecosystems. Every visit, we aim to aim to inspire guests to care for the natural world and understand the importance of diverse and sustainable ecosystems.
Camps and Family Programs
Designed for your budding naturalists, ages 5-13, Winter ZooCamp fosters an appreciation for the natural world and wildlife through special activities, arts and crafts, up-close animal encounters, and more.
Drop your little elves off for a fun-filled morning at the zoo’s workshop (the education center)! All of our animals made the nice list this year, so children will help make presents for them while you finish your list.
Join us for this two-day, hands-on workshop to learn how to set up a G-scale garden railroad, the largest of the model trains.
Jump on Board The Living Desert Express
Not all animal families look alike! This family program invites you and your pride to learn about the animal families here at The Living Desert.
Zoo Families: Wildly Diverse!
Join this one-day parent participation program for some hands-on fun as we explore how animals move through music, stories, art and more! The program includes at least one up-close animal encounter. Participants are welcome to explore the zoo on their own after the event.
