Allen Monroe, President/CEO of The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens, has been recognized as one of the “Top 20 Dynamic CEOs of 2020” by The CEO Publication. Honored for his vision and dedication, Monroe has transformed The Living Desert into the Zoo of the future.

Monroe joined The Living Desert as President/CEO in 2014 and has successfully led the Zoo and botanical gardens through record visitation, growth, and capital expansion projects including a new entrance, ticketing plaza, and gift shop, along with the newest Australian Adventures immersive habitat. Currently, he is spearheading the Zoo’s Crossroads of Conservation capital campaign slated to bring African black rhino to The Living Desert in the Fall of 2021.
