A Member Screening: The Last Ranger

Members of The Living Desert are invited to a special screening of The Last Ranger, a poignant 2024 short film directed by Cindy Lee that explores the urgent realities of wildlife conservation and the impact of poaching in South Africa. The film will be followed by a presentation from Dr. James Danoff-Burg, who will discuss how poaching is deeply connected to challenges faced by local communities, including poverty and unemployment in South Africa. Join us for a powerful event of storytelling and thoughtful conversation about conservation on the ground.
