Slow down and appreciate the California state reptile on Saturday, November 8th at The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens.

Park guests are invited to join us from 10:00am to 12:00pm at the Living Legacy Garden for tortoise-themed activities, conservation conversations, and more!

During the morning you’ll be able to…

• Get up close and personal with a desert tortoise and the one and only Mojave Maxine!
• Stock up on native plants and tortoise forage at the Appel Gift Shop
• Embark on a desert tortoise scavenger hunt adventure around The Living Desert and uncover hidden clues along the way—then claim your exclusive desert tortoise trading card as your prize!

Guests will also have opportunity to talk to The Living Desert’s Conservation Team and several of our desert tortoise conservation partners to learn about the collective efforts to protect desert tortoise and how YOU can help.
